Historical Context: Civilian Conservation Corps, Prairie Creek SP-8 Camp.

Client: CA Dept. of Parks & Recreation,  2016

The goal of this project was to provide a context for interpreting the impact of the CCC at Prairie Creek State Historic Park, utilizing the last remaining original CCC building.  The context identified specific themes, significant events and individuals of the period, and a framework of overall themes that interpret the role of the CCC in the Northern District, headquartered at Eureka, California.  Utilizing historic photos, personal records and institutional archives, the context identified the people and programs that created the infrastructure for the newly created state park system, and the influence of the CCC on resource management in the region as well as on the lives of individual participants.
