Twain Harte Survey, Inventory & Oral History

Client: County of Tuolumne, CA., 2006

 

We revised the initial survey of this Southern Sierra recreational community and documented a citywide historical resources survey of the several phases of development and made evident the distinctive styles of architecture that were designed to blend into the natural setting.  We also conducted oral histories of long-time residents and property owners, which documented the creation of one of the earliest resorts in the Southern Sierra region. In addition we conducted a series of Oral History Workshops to train community residents to continue oral history interviews, including interviews with Native American residents.
